We are proud to have garnered numerous honors and awards that recognize the excellence of our programs and personnel, as well as our successes with the children and families whom we serve.

  • 2016 – Service Awards of the SI Not-for-Profit Association to SIMHS Head Start Fiscal Officer Patchara Changpertitum; Early Recognition Screening Specialist Jane DiFortuna, RN; and Superintendent for Facilities Management Daniel Rothmund.
  • 2015 –  Service Awards of the SI Not-for-Profit Association to SIMHS Vice President for Early Childhood Services Roseann Catania and Contracts Manager  Lenora DePrimo.
  • 2014 – Annual Mid-Career Exemplary Social Work Leader Award of the National Association of Social Workers to Chief Clinical Officer Libby Traynor.
  • 2014 – Service Awards of the SI Not-for-Profit Association to SIMHS Payroll Coordinator Karen Sorensen and Doreen Tartaglia,  a principal member of the Pouch Center Support Staff.
  • 2013 – Service Awards of the SI Not-for-Profit Association to SIMHS SafeTY.net Program Director Robin Sklarin and SIMHS Billing Director Ancilla Cuffy
  • 2013– Platinum LEED certification, the highest “green” certification issued by the US Green Building Council to the new Dr. Kenneth Popler Children’s Center at 444 St. Mark’s Place in St. George. The Center is the first LEED-certified office building on the Island.
  • 2012 – Inaugural Executive Woman of the Year Award of the SI Economic Development Corp. to SIMHS’s new President/CEO Fern A. Zagor
