Bag the Biggest Bargain at Our Thrift Shop

The Society’s Great Kills Thrift Shop is offering budget-minding consumers a deal to “spring ahead” for.

Starting right now, customers will be able to fill a large, 15-inch shopping bag, provided gratis by the store, with all the merchandise that fits (except jewelry) for only $15.

The thrift shop carries an eye-popping array of gently-used clothing for women, men and children, accessories from feathered hats to leather footwear, housewares, knick-knacks, jewelry, and one-of-a-kind what-nots. There’s always a surprise to be found on a high-up shelf, a hard-to-get-to corner, atop a counter, or hanging from a rack.

Lucky buyers might discover a vintage fur vest, a funky pair of boots, a classic black dress, a lacey wedding gown, a crystal vase. A vinyl LP and a DVD. A cast iron frying pan and an electric wok. A box of Tinker Toys and an X-Box.

All proceeds benefit the SIMHS’s diverse mental health and related programs and services for children with special needs and their families. Last year, thrift shop proceeds helped to assist more than 5,000 children.

Staff members, who are all volunteers, will help you get the biggest bang for your $15 bucks. So hurry, to get the best and the most at the lowest discount prices.
