The SIMHS Women’s Guild installed its newly elected officers for 2016-2017 last week at a year-end dinner meeting at Bella Vita Restaurant.
Linda Miraglia took the helm as the Guild’s new president. The other officers are June Dellavalle, vice president; Carol Romano, recording secretary; and Dorothy Liquori, corresponding secretary.
The Society’s Women’s Guild, founded in 1969, meets monthly to plan, carry out, and support fundraising events to benefit the Society’s programs and services for children with special needs and their families.
Among its yearly events are the Spring Luncheon in May and the $10,000 Limited Raffle, which caps the winter holiday season. The Guild also sponsors activities, such as ice-skating trips and holiday parties, for the children who receive the Society’s services.
The Guild is looking for new members!
Ms. Miraglia promises that joining the Guild and participating in its mission to assist children with special needs is a fulfilling experience that brings with it new friends and new opportunities to be active in the community
